TKAM Chapter 22 – How has Harper Lee shown the change in the childrens’ character after the trial?

Harper Lee shows that the trial effected Jem more than any other child.

‘It was Jem’s turn to cry, his face was streaked with angry tears’.

He was the only child that cried because of the outcome of the trail. As the oldest out of the three, he felt most  distraught due to his realisation of how unfair the court really is. He is a young man, therefore he still has a little bit of innocence left in him, however he has realised the harsh reality of his home county and can come to a non biased decision.
